Frequently asked questions
I am unable to open the PowerPoint presentation as it is asking me for a password
All our PowerPoint presentations are 'Read Only' documents. You do not need a password to view or use them. Each time you select one of our files to open a presentation you will see this dialog box:

You need to click 'Read Only', and then the PPT will open.
When I open the PowerPoint presentation it shows one blank slide and no text
This has occurred because the dialog box giving you the option to select 'Read Only' has been closed before the read only option has been selected. If you find yourself faced with a blank presentation and no text simply close the presentation and then re-open it, making sure that when the dialogue box appears you select the option to 'Read Only'. Click this and the presentation will open.
All PowerPoint presentations have been created using Microsoft PowerPoint 2003. If you get an error message as indicated below, then it is more than likely because you are using an earlier version of PowerPoint.

To view the PowerPoint you will need to download a 'viewer'.
Download the Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 viewer by clicking here
In extreme cases you may find that permission settings in some schools do not allow you to open the PPT. If so, the problem can be resolved by your Network manager changing your permission settings.
I am unable to save any of the PowerPoint presentations
All PowerPoint presentations (PPTs) are set to 'read only' status, which means that the 'save' and 'save as' functions are disabled. However, if you want to save them to somewhere else on your computer, or a USB drive, or a CD ROM you can do so, but you will need to do so without opening them.

To do this 'right click' and select 'copy' on the PPT file you wish to move, and then 'paste' it into the new place you wish to access it from.
PLEASE NOTE: Our terms and conditions do not permit you to make multiple copies of PowerPoint presentations and teaching notes for anyone else to use.
In the unlikely event that none of these suggestions work, and you are still having problems using our PPTs and/or teaching notes, then please use the contact form below.
